SC/ST Welfare Committee
As per UGC guidelines No F1-5/2006(STC) College has constituted committee/cell for SC/ST The scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) Welfare Cell constituted in College to promote the special interest of reserved category students and to provide special inputs in areas where the students experience difficulties.
The committee will look after the discrimination of SC/ST/OBC students, faculty members and staff in the college.
This committee will keep track of and work to resolve problems involving SC/ST college students, faculty, and staff. It will also promote specific causes.
he SC/ST students can approach the Liaison Officer of the Cell for redressed of any grievance(s) regarding academic, administrative or social problems.
Aim and Objectives :-
- To receive complaints on any caste-based discrimination against SC/ST/OBC students, instructors, and employees.
- To address the grievances that employees, faculty, and students have filed.
- To provide all students from the underprivileged classes with assistance in receiving scholarships.
- To educate all students of the backward class on the many programmers, policies, and actions of the government and non-governmental organizations.
- To share positive messages and social messages through various activities.
- To carry out interdepartmental trainings for students from the disadvantaged classes to improve their capabilities
- To offer an orientation on the various scholarships for higher education.
- To deal with both academic and non-academic difficulties.
- To lead capacity-building and orientation sessions.
- To conduct coaching for remedial/co-curricular purposes.
- To inform and enable the college's OBC students and staff to utilize the resources offered by Central and State Government programmes.
- To implement, oversee, and regularly assess the central and state governments' reservation policies, as well as to make sure they are effectively implemented in the college.
- To inform students from the Other Backward Classes of the Savitribai Phule University's, Government of India's, and UGC's orders and other circulars.
- To disseminate directives and other circulars from the governments of Maharashtra, India, and the University Grants Commission on student scholarships, hiring, and promotion in non-teaching and teaching positions.
- To plan and oversee the University's remedial coaching programme for OBC students, especially students from underrepresented groups.
- To address complaints from OBC and minority candidates about admission, scholarships, hiring, promotion, and other related issues at the college.
- To serve as the college's grievance redressal cell for OBC students and staff, as well as minority students and staff. The OBC Cell will exclusively look after the work related to OBC and minorities; no other work will be assigned to it.
- Every year, an orientation program is organized to raise awareness among students.
- Meetings of the committee members are held to discuss matters regarding problems and scholarships. All eligible students avail the facility of scholarship.
